Winchester Ghosts was formed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2015 by singer/songwriter Brian Adams and Mike "Skelly" DeLo. All four current musicians are classically trained. The band released its first single "Deadhead" on March 14th, 2018 on Bandcamp. Bassist Aaron Lebovitz and first drummer Vinnie Sabatini joined the band later that summer. Together the band played their first gig at the Duquesne University Battle of the Bands. After winning the Battle of the Bands they went on to gigging around town. With Vinnie and later Brian Rooney on drums the band would play numerous venues in Pittsburgh's South Side, and record two singles. After the departures of Vinnie and Rooney, the band would find their current drummer Colin McBride in early 2020. However the pandemic would make it difficult for them to find shows and practice, so they focused on completing their first studio album. After a few months of writing and practicing the band would record the album in the end of 2020, and finish tracking in the beginning of 2021. The first singles released for the album was a new version of “Deadhead” and song “Sickophantasy”. The self-titled album was released December 19th. The band continues to write and plans to continue to bring its brand of heavy hard hitting rock to the Steel City and beyond.
